If you fancy a picnic you will pass on route the famous Gordon Riggs Garden Centre which now hosts a fantastic Farm shop where you can purchase a wonderful picnic or light lunch. Once you arrive at Hollingworth Lake park up (details below) grab your dog’s leash, and embark on a scenic walk around the lake. The 2.5-mile circular path offers stunning views of the water and surrounding countryside. Let your four-legged companion roam and play as you both enjoy the fresh air and tranquillity. The lake is dog-friendly, and you can permit your buddy to take a dip in the water, play in the sand and have some fun. Make sure you pack a dog towel for the car!

Half way around the lake is the Visitor Centre with toilets and café. Dogs allowed outside only but you can get a coffee and sit and take in the amazing views and there’s plenty of bowls of water out for the pooches too. There are plenty of places to stop and eat your picnic along the route or continue and find one of the amazing dog friendly eateries.
