Jasper in the 1/2 acre dog exercise paddock
Lucy + Henry enjoy relaxing by the log fire
Fantastic dog walks
Stunning dog walks from the door. Our cottage is surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
What we supply
As dog owners ourselves we realise how important it is that your dog also enjoys his stay at Rough Top Cottage. Our welcome pack includes your dogs very own treats! We supply everything we can to make your dog feel at home. An emergency kit box has bowls, leads, coloured dog towels, throws and poo bags in case you forget anything. The cottage has its own canine 1st aid kit but hopefully you won’t need it.
We even have a large crate, for crate trained dogs, that you can hire but to make him feel at home please bring his own bed.
Outside is a coldwater hose with shower head so you can wash your dog on returning from a walk.
The garden, which is fenced to make it private so you and your dog can relax, has garden furniture so you can sit and relax whilst your dog plays.
The dog paddock is loved by every dog that visits. It’s a chance to really stretch their legs! Its well fenced but you know your dog and if he’s an escape artist then we’d keep him on his lead!
What you need to bring
To make your dog feel at home please bring his own bed, crate, lead, dishes in fact everything you would normally use. Of course bring his food and treats! For his safety and your peace of mind, do make sure your dog has a tag and collar on.
Do you want a day away without the dogs? Fantastic doggy day care is available within a short walk away. We can recommend it as our own dogs go there regularly for a grooming session or a short stay.

A few rules
We don’t like having lots of rules and regulations and we realise that dogs are very much part of people’s families, however Rough Top Cottage is very much part of our family so please look after it for us. We know that most of our guests make the most of our dog friendly features but not all of our guests will be visiting with dogs.
Please refer to our Dog Owners Code of Conduct page. Sandra gained this qualification with the Certificate in Dog in Hospitality Award from the National Pet College.
And finally… if you get home and find you have some lovely photos of your dog(s) enjoying their holiday we would love to see them and put them on our Four Legged Friends page.
Thankyou Sandra + Brian
